What To Include on an HVAC Company Website

Are you trying to figure out where to start when creating a website for your HVAC company?

It can be overwhelming trying to figure out how to build a website, let alone figure out the content that will go on it.

Fortunately, you’ll come to find that there are key pages that most HVAC companies should have, depending on the exact services they provide.

In this article, we will walk through each of the different kinds of pages you can include on your HVAC company website so you can determine which pages you need for your site.

Example of an HVAC Company Website Layout

There are many pages you can include on your heating and cooling company’s website. However, the pages you decide to include will depend on the services you provide.

If you are just starting out and are looking for a quick HVAC website plan, we recommend sticking to key pages like a homepage, a heating services page, a cooling services page, location pages, and a contact us page.

Then, as you have more bandwidth to write more pages, you can eventually scale it out to include the kinds of pages shown in the example HVAC company website layout below:

1. HVAC Homepage

Your HVAC homepage will most likely be the first page your prospective customers land on your website. It will educate them on what HVAC services you offer and how you can help them with their heating and cooling needs.

This page should contain high level information about:

  • Your services

  • Your service areas

  • Your company history

  • Your careers (optional)

The information you include in each of these sections should be tailored to your service pages, so you can naturally include a link to your pages within its corresponding section.

2. AC (Cooling) Services Page

Your AC/ Cooling Services page is one of your main overarching service pages that helps show your customers what cooling services you specialize in. It should cover high level information about your AC sub-services like:

  • AC repair

  • AC maintenance

  • AC installation/ replacement

Each of the cooling sub services you offer should have its own dedicated sub-service page that you link to throughout your cooling services page.

3. AC Sub-service Pages

As we mentioned above, the AC sub-service pages you will include on your site are dependent on the type of AC sub-services you offer.

These pages will be based on sub-services like AC repair, AC maintenance, and AC replacement and will go into depth about the topic. Some things you might include on these pages would be:

  • How much the service typically costs

  • How frequently the service is needed

  • Signs they need the AC service

  • Things customers should know

Providing information about these common questions will help address customers' questions and concerns before they contact you and make them trust you more for educating them.

4. Heating Services Page

Your heating services page is another overarching service page on your site that helps communicate the heating sub-services you offer.

Since you will provide in-depth information on each of your heating sub-services on each of your heating sub-service pages, the heating services page will be where you include high level information about each service and what you offer.

5. Heating Sub-service Pages

Just like your AC sub-service pages, your heating sub-service pages will be individual pages you create to educate customers on the sub-services you offer. Heating sub-service pages will generally be pages like:

  • Heating repair

  • Heating maintenance

  • Heating installation/replacement

On these pages, you will be able to cover information about the service like cost, frequency, benefits, signs, and what customers should know.

6. Commercial HVAC Service Page (optional)

If you offer commercial HVAC services, you should at minimum, have a commercial HVAC services page on your website. If you want to expand the commercial side of your HVAC business, you should also include commercial HVAC sub-service pages.

Once you have determined the amount of focus you want to place on commercial HVAC services, you will be able to determine how in-depth or high level your overarching commercial HVAC services page is going to be.

If you are creating multiple commercial HVAC sub-services pages, your commercial HVAC services page should briefly explain each sub-service and link to their dedicated page.

7. Commercial HVAC Sub-service Pages (optional)

Just like with your heating and cooling sub-services page, your commercial HVAC sub-service pages will be pages dedicated to each of your sub-services.

These will be where customers can go to get more information on the type of commercial HVAC services you provide and how you can help them with their commercial HVAC needs.

It is also good to note any industries you specialize in providing commercial HVAC services because then commercial customers will know if you will be able to assist them with the commercial HVAC system.

8. Plumbing Services (optional)

Since not all HVAC companies offer plumbing services, if you offer plumbing services, you should show that through at least having one dedicated plumbing services page on your site.

If the service a customer is looking for involves both HVAC and plumbing, they will be happy to know your company can handle it all. If you don’t offer plumbing services, but you partner with a plumber for your jobs that involve plumbing, you should note that on your site.

You could note it throughout your content where it is relevant, or you could still make a dedicated plumbing page and just link to their site when referring to plumbing service pages and include a contact us button that links to your plumbing partner’s site.

While this might seem counterintuitive if some customers click straight to your partner’s site, it is not. This allows you to build a website with relevant and helpful content.

Additionally, you can have your plumbing partner provide you with tracking URLs to their pages, so they can keep track of and pay you for the leads that come from your site.

9. HVAC Service Area Page

To start building your HVAC company’s local SEO, you will want to create an HVAC service area page that explains what areas you service and links out to specific city pages (as you create them).

This page is beneficial because it allows you to communicate what cities you service, even before you have created a page for each city.

When first creating a service area page, you will generally want to include an introductory paragraph about your service area, a map of your service area, a list of the cities you service, and reviews from local customers.

10. HVAC Location Pages

Once you have created an HVAC service page that lists out each of your cities, the next step is to create HVAC location pages for each of your cities, starting with the top cities you service.

As you build out dedicated city pages for each location you service, you will be able to build your HVAC company’s local presence and be found more easily by customers searching for HVAC services in those areas.

If you service major cities with a saturated HVAC market, you may want to switch between creating location pages for the large cities you service and the surrounding cities you service since the surrounding cities may be easier to rank for quicker.

11. HVAC About Us Page

Your about us page is a great spot to elaborate one why you created your HVAC company, why you are passionate about serving your local customers, and the history of your company.

  • This page serves two purposes:

  • To build trust with your customers

  • To attract and inform job applicants

However, your priority on most pages of your site, except for your HVAC Career page, will be to educate and speak to customers.

12. HVAC Financing Page (optional)

If you offer financing options for customers, the next page you can include on your site is an HVAC Financing page.

This page should include information about the banks or 3rd party service providers you work with to provide financing options for your customers.

Depending on if you will be providing all of the information about the financing option on your page or linking out to the financing provider, you will put more or less information on this page.

If you don’t offer financing options and won’t be creating a financing page on your HVAC website, you should still mention the forms of payment you accept (card, cash, check, etc.) on your Contact Us page.

13. HVAC Career Page

If you are actively hiring and want to get more applicants for your job postings, you should create a dedicated HVAC Careers page.

This will create a space for applicants to directly apply on your site rather than them submitting their application through an online job board like LinkedIn, Indeed, or ZipRecruiter that charges you monthly or per click.

As your web traffic increases, the amount of applicants you receive will grow, allowing you to gradually save more and more on your hiring.

14. HVAC Contact Us

The last type of page you can include on your HVAC website is an HVAC Contact Us page. This page will generally have the least amount of information on it, but is one of the most critical pages for your site.

Without a Contact Us page, it will be harder for customers to figure out how to contact you for HVAC services. To make it even easier for your customers to contact you, you should link to the Contact Us page in the top right corner of your website and link to it in your footer as well.

Create An Effective HVAC Company Website To Increase Leads

The pages you choose to include on your HVAC company website will all depend on the types of services you offer and which services you want to promote first.

If you are creating an HVAC company website for the first time and can only create a limited amount of pages to start off with, we recommend you begin with a homepage, cooling services page, heating services page, service area page, about us, and contact us page.
