How Often You Should Add Content to Your Contract Service Business Website

As someone who has probably never written website content before, you may be intimidated by the idea of creating content yourself, but also not believe it is a full-time job.

However, you may have also heard that with the correct posting cadence and quality content, you can start increasing the amount of leads you receive.

We have spoken to contract service business owners, some who had large marketing agency teams create their content and some with one dedicated in-house writer. Regardless of which method they used, cadence and quality of content were key (which requires at least one full-time writer).

In this blog post, we will cover what types of content you should create for your contract service business website and how often you should post each type of content.

How Frequently To Add New Pages To Your Contract Service Company Website

As you are first creating your website’s content, you should aim to get at least 5-10 pages created and added to your live site. However, your ultimate goal should be to have around 10-30 pages on your contract service business site.

Having this amount of content about your services enables you to better educate your customers on the services you offer and how they can address their problems.

If you begin with five website pages, but you want to add five or more after you have made your website live, you should aim to create and publish one new website page per week.

When determining how often you want to create new web pages, you should think about the ultimate goal you have for the pages you want on your website, and the quality of content you have on your services.

Until you finish creating each page you want to create for your site, your web pages should take priority over your blogs.

How Often You Should Post Blogs on Your Contract Service Business Website

Once you have the base content for your site (your service pages and other supporting pages), you can start fitting blog posting into your content cadence.

Posting blogs regularly is a great way to educate your customers and bring new traffic to your site. Since you will eventually not need to add any new service pages (unless you add new services), blogs provide a great way to keep showing Google and your customers that your website is still active.

In general, it is recommended that contract service businesses create 2-4, high-quality blogs per week. If you create over 4 blogs per week, the results are generally still the same as if you were creating 3-4 per week, so the additional workload of trying to post more than four blogs is not worthwhile when you are first starting out.

Whichever cadence you pick to start out with, you should be consistent. If creating three posts per week is not sustainable right away, you should aim to start with 1-2 per week. Then, as your capacity increases, or you become more comfortable with writing blogs, you can increase to 2-3 blogs per week.

If you are trying to create web pages and blogs at the same time, then you may only have capacity to do one page and one post per week. Keep in mind that you can start out small and keep building since your content will continue to gain traction as you add more to your site.

Other Ways To Bring Traffic to Your Contract Service Company Website

After you get into a swing of posting your web pages and blog posts and you start gaining additional capacity, you can start thinking about other ways to draw additional traffic to your contract service site.

Other ways you can do this include creating Google updates on your Google My Business page and posting to social media.

You can repurpose your blogs as Google updates and social media posts to maximize your efforts. In general, you will not want to post your whole blog on either of these platforms (because the true goal is to summarize the blog and get them to read the rest on your site).

For the Google updates, you can post them as frequently as you create new blogs. For social media, a good rule of thumb is to post around 3-5 times per week.

Consistently Create Content for Your Contract Service Business Website

Depending on your website goals, the amount of website pages versus blog posts you produce per week will vary.

No matter what, you should prioritize getting necessary pages for your contract service business website written before you start prioritizing writing a large volume of blogs.
