How To Write a Roofing Installation Page

At this point you’ve probably already written your roofing services page and perhaps your roofing repair page.

If you haven’t, you can still circle back to writing the other pages you should include on your roofing company website.

The only detail that matters is that you create your URL structure with all of the pages in mind. So, if you haven’t published the other pages yet, you should be fine.

Back to the main topic though - what should you include on a roofing installation page? Continue reading to learn just that and more.

6 Things To Include on Your Roofing Installation Page

1. The Type of Roof You Can Get When You Have Your Roof Replaced

On your roof installation page, you should cover the types of roofs you install, whether that be stated clearly with a heading like “The Types of Roofing We Install” or less directly with a heading like “The Type of Roof You Can Get When You Have Your Roof Replaced.”

The direction you go with the roofing material section will depend on how you want to start out your roofing installation page. If you would like to highlight your services, you should write a heading similar to the first option. If you want to include a list of available roofing materials/ options, you can write a title similar to the second one.

  • Regardless of which way you go with this section, you will still cover similar items like:

  • Roofing materials (asphalt, clay, slate, wood, metal, etc.)

  • Roofing design (flat, hip, mansard, jerkinhead, gable, etc.)

  • The durability of different roofing materials

  • The lifespan of certain roofing materials

  • The best kinds of roofing materials for your area

  • The worst kind of roofing materials for your area

Your customers may have an idea of the types of roofing material they can have their roof replaced with, but providing them with a list of the options allows them to start considering what they want to replace their current roof with.

2. Signs You Should Replace a Roof Rather Than Repair It

While some signs might seem obvious to you, homeowners may not always know when it is time to replace their roof rather than repair it. Some signs you might cover include:

  • Your roof requires a repair and is nearing the end of its lifespan

  • Your roof is sagging or is weathered

  • Moss, mold, or fungi have begun to grow on your roof

  • Your roof’s shingles are curling, buckling, or missing

  • More than 30% of your roof is damaged

The signs a roof may need to be replaced instead of repaired may vary by roof type, so be sure to include signs that are inclusive of each type of roof your customers may have. You could even create subsections within the “replace vs repair” section to highlight different types of roofs and their specific signs so that customers can easily identify issues with their roofs.

Since roof replacement is more expensive than roof repair, you should use this section to also provide answers to any objections/ questions your customers may have.

Customers may wonder “why should I replace my roof if 30% or more of it is damaged?” Generally your answer to this question and similar ones will be “Because the repair may cost so much it may make more sense to just replace the whole thing.”

It is also good to remind customers that even if they do get their roof repaired, as it reaches the end of its lifespan, they still will probably need to have it replaced eventually.

3. How Much It Costs To Replace a Roof

Cost is the number one thing your customers will probably want to know. However, as all roofing company’s know, the price of a roof replacement can vary depending on things like:

  • The type of roofing material

  • The size of the roof

  • The style of the roof

  • The labor to replace the roof

  • How easy it is to access the roof

To ensure your customers know what to expect, you should include the things that cause the price to vary and then break down parts that are more predictable.

For instance, you should include a list of roofing materials with their price per square foot. You could also create a list of square foot ranges and put the price ranges based on the square footage of the roof replacement.

Explaining each of the things that impact the cost of having a roof replaced helps your customers understand what causes the price of the roof replacement to increase or decrease.

4. How Long a Roof Replacement Takes

Just like the cost of the roof replacement, the duration of the replacement will also matter to your customers. They will want to know how long it will take so they can plan ahead accordingly.

The best way to convey this information to your customers on your roofing installation page is to state a range of days and then provide context on what can make a roof replacement take more or less time, like:

  • The complexity of the roof replacement

  • There is unexpected rain or snow

  • The accessibility of your roof

  • How steep your roof is

  • The type of roof material being installed

If you include a timeline for roof replacements in your contracts, you could also mention that in this section. This will allow customers to know they will be provided with the exact information of their project before they have their roof replaced.

5. What You Should Know Before Replacing a Roof

Customers won’t want any surprises, so if there are any items that usually come up that your customers are surprised about, it is best to mention them in a section on “things homeowners should know before getting their roof replaced.” Some topics you could cover are:

  • How to pick the correct material for a roof replacement

  • How to choose the best roofing company

  • What a roofing estimate and contract should include

  • How to prepare a home for a roof replacement

  • What licenses, insurance, and certifications a roofing company should have

While you know everything a customer should know before a roof replacement, your customers do not and this may be their first time having a roof replaced. Providing them with all of the information they should know allows them to prepare properly for their roof replacement.

6. Things That Affect the Lifespan of a Roof

When it comes time for a homeowner to get their roof replaced, they are usually wondering how they can make their new roof last as long as possible. To help them learn more about how they can extend the lifespan of their roof, you can mention the top things that affect the lifespan like:

  • Exposure to strong winds, hail, and snow

  • The material the roof is made out of

  • How well the roof is maintained

  • The slope or pitch of the roof

  • How well the roof was installed

To make this section even more specific to your customers, you can reference things in your area that directly impact the lifespan of roofs. For instance, maybe you are in an area that gets a lot of hurricanes or storms. Or perhaps you are in an area with intense heat or sun exposure.
